The Outdoor Therapist.
Rachel Hamilton; BA Hons, MBACP.
Understanding therapeutic practice in outdoor natural environments and open water swimming
.

I have always found a comfort in nature and I am passionate about the benefits of walking and talking outdoors.

Working with adults and students who are struggling with mental health issues such as loss, anxiety, depression, relationships, stress, burn out and trauma.

Suitable for all: we can walk, stroll or find a quiet place to sit.

Moving the body enables us to release tensions and stimulate thoughts that can encourage change. It can liberate us from the sense of feeling stuck in life.

Being in the open air can feel more freeing than sitting indoors.

This is a space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, options and choices, enabling you to work out how you want to move forward.

            Walking together can

  • Ease tension, stress and anxiety.

  • Set time aside for yourself.

  • Recognise who you are and what makes you feel fulfilled.

  • Find a space where you can share your burdens and feel understood.

  • Find tools that enable you to reset and self care.

  • Enable you to feel more connected with the wider world.

  • Improve your physical health.

  • Help you feel accepted and listened to.

  • Improve your confidence and self esteem.
